PAKHAWAJ

Pakhawaj is the traditional Indian percussion instruments. The larger bass skin is played with the left hand whereas the small trebal skin is played with right hand. The left side is always smeared with weat dough which adds a bass (ghummar) that is,low pitch sound while playing pakhawaj. It can be tuned like Tabla with 8 wooden wedges that are under skin traps (waadi). There are various styles of playing pakhawaj .The mostly used are Drupad and Dhamaar.Unlike Tabla and Pakhawaj compositions are taught by using series of syllabus known as ''Bols''.

The name Pakhawaj and its derivation Pakhawaj originate from the two words, paksha meaning side and waj meaning to play.Together pakshvadya became pakhawaj, meaning the instrument which is played from both sides.Pakhawaj is mainly played in Indian temples either as an accompaniment to vocal music, dhrupad or dhamaar or as an accompaniment to the veena. It is also enjoyed good standing as a solo percussion instrument....

HARMONIUM

The harmonium is one of the most commonly used instrument in Indian classical music. This instrument is seen in use across many different generations and more than likely to be found in almost any household that as an interest in Indian music. It is used to accompany classical vocal music, semi classical form, ghazals, bhajans,it is also used by many musicians and composers as the instrument of choice for musical support while composing new tunes.Yet inspite of the ubiquitous availability and familiarity, the instrument continues to be one of the more controversial ones in Indian music.

Harmonium is an instrument in which wind from a foot-operated bellows causes metal reeds to vibrate.Pitch is determined by the size of the reed, there are no pipes.Seperate set of reed produce different tone colours, the sound quality being determined by the size and shape of the tone chamber surrounding each reed. The harmonium developed in the early to mid-19th century in Europe and America, and it was a very popular church and home instrument into the 1930s...

Music:true love

Classical music
Music is an art form and a cultural activity whose medium is sound and silence, which exist in time. It  is made up of pitch, rythm, dynamics etc. There are different categories in music.Major types of music which we consider the ancient times, most difficult and best music form amongest all is a 'classical music'.There are different parts in Indian classical music. The North Indian classical music is called as Hindusthani music and South Indian music is called as Carnatic music. In this music there are also different categories such as different gharanas, different ragas etc.
Here i would like to elaborate more about hindusthani classical music whatever knowledge which i have about classical music.Their  two forms are namely classical sangeet and sugam sangeet..sugam sangeet includes films songs, poems, bhaavgeet, bhajan, gajal etc whereas classical music includes khayaal gaayan, natyageet, thumri etc. There was a time when music was learnt for getting peace and happiness, a medium to connect to the god for the satisfaction of our soul and heart but today people learning it to show their own greatness which brought a huge competitions among artists.
Classical music has many mandatory restrictions. It includes ragas(rag),taal, and while performing any raag we havw to maintain the correct tempo in the given taal and make it more attractive and interesting.
The starting point(1st matra) of any taal is called as a ''Sum'' which is the most precious and most important in the field of music.By taking the support of the sum an artist uses his skills and efforts to perform a particular aag in a given taal.An artist starts a particular raag from sum, uses his all skills and talent, makes different variations and again comes on sum with the help of taal which is the most important for which he is applauded by the audience which is the true successful outcome of any artist. This all can only happen if you have a good riyaaz of classical music most importantly the "Alankaras''(sa,re,ga)....Riyaaz means practising the particular raag for several hours and it has got no time limit. The more you practise the more you gain, more is the chance to get it to the perfection and obviously it will result in more and more better outcome while performing. There is a saying that nobody is perfect in music and its true because music has no end it goes more deeper and deeper having no end point...To become successful in music an individual has to have a good riyaaz and it is said that even we learn music in our entire life we cannot finish learning it...
Music is a type of entertainment which gives us lots of joy and happiness and true peace of life.Me as a student gives me lot of happiness while learning my classical music and peace of getting direct connection with god.I will always try my best to learn this art and i will make the best of it for that i need god blessings....
